Having never been an “athlete”, and starting in my mid 40’s, my approach to coaching and being coached is different than many others. I am an “active” coach. I love feedback on any lifts or movements I am doing, so, you get what I love.
While I like coaching everyone, I get huge joy out of seeing people succeed who were scared to try. I’ve coached ages ranging from 3 to 86 years and love that CrossFit allows me to do that!
My advice is to track your performance FROM THE BEGINNING. That way you see improvements! Give it YOUR all, do not worry about other people, YOU DO YOU! Leave your ego at the door, let your coach know what you want, and great things can and will happen!
